Writing books is probably one of the most recently emerged projects that I’ve experimented with. It started when my mom declared that she wanted to write a children’s book based on an old story she would tell me as a kid. Of course, she wanted me to collaborate and illustrate it. Opening my mind up to a kid-like space and drawing all the colorful pages for her book was so fun for me, I decided I wanted to do it again- this time with my own story.

So I wrote Whin of the Wood and the Perfect Gift. Intended to be one of a series, I wanted Whin of the Wood to be an opportunity to delve into moral storytelling. Nothing too heavy, but I did want to try and explore some lessons that I didn’t often hear about in most kids’ stories.

Admittedly, it’s been a rollercoaster trying to navigate the complicated world of self-publishing. But honestly, I think the end product has been worth it. With a little patience and perseverance I hope to release more books in the future!
